Biographical Note for Hjermstad, Christian A. H. (1869-1942) : Born March 20, 1869 to Rev. Ulrik Carl Severin and Georgine Christiane (Kolstad) Hjermstad in Red Wing, Minnesota. He attended Luther Academy in Albert Lea, Minnesota 1890-1891, then attended Luther College 1891-1895. At Luther College, he wrote for the College Chips and played football. Hjermstad then attended Luther Seminary, 1895-1899. He was ordained as a pastor the Norwegian Synod on January 5, 1899. Married Lillie Mae Gaarder in 1899. Served as pastor in Manistique, Michigan and Lemonweir and Elroy, Wisconsin.
