Biographical Note for Rude, Leslie Gene (1931-1998) : Graduated from Luther College, 1952; received a PhD from the Universiry of Illinois; taught at Luther, starting 1953; served as director of radio for the campus station, 1953-1956; left Luther, 1956; served as a teaching assistant in speech at the University of Illinois; returned to Luther, 1960; served as head of the speech department at Luther; left Luther, 1965; served as dean of Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York; returned to Luther, 1974; served as Vice President of Development, ending 1985; involved with the Vesterheim museum, 1984-1986.
