(b. 1897) : Graduated from Luther College, 1918; while at Luther: member of the Chips newspaper staff, the debating team, gymnastics team, won third place in the oratorical contest, 1917; graduated from the St. Paul College of Law, 1921; became a lawyer. Married Cathinka Preus, daughter of C.K. Preus and Lulla Hjort, in 1920.
