Biographical Note

Gustav B. Wollan was born on September 21, 1877 in Glenwood, Minnesota. He graduated from Luther College in 1897 and wrote the college song "To Luther." Wollan had a varied career, including working for the St. Paul Daily News (1911-1920, 1925-1935). In addition, he worked as the executive secretary to Minnesota Governor J.A.O Preus. His sister Clara Wollan was the wife of Luther College professor Orlando W. Qualley. Wollan passed away on May 16, 1935.
