Scope and Contents: This collection contains the papers of Esther Maland Walker Norwegian-American, born in Leland, Illinois, in 1918, Phi Beta Kappa, UCLA graduate, military attache in the U.S. embassy in Oslo and also papers from John Maland born in Stavanger, Norway 1879, emigrated at age 18, farmer and seed corn judge in Illinois, died in 1964 in Los Angeles, California, Norwegian folk costumes.
