Harland Nelson was a Professor of English at Luther College for 30 years from 1962 until he retired in 1992. During his time at Luther, Nelson served as a Fulbright Professor in the 1967-1968 and 1972-1973 school years in Bergen, Norway and Innsbruck, Austria respectively. During 1981-1986, Nelson directed a four college consortium consisting of Luther, Coe, Cornell, and Grinnell. This consortium was funded by the Kellogg Foundation.
