Historical Note: Born November 11, 1886 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Madsen graduated from Luther College in 1911, then Luther Seminary in 1915, and was ordained the same year. Madsen served several congregations, including Our Savior's Lutheran in rural Princeton, Minnesota.
