Biographical Note for Bahr, Vernon (1924-2017) : Vernon "Bud" Bahr was born in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1924. He enrolled at Luther College in 1947 after a brief service with the Army during World War II. After graduating from Luther in 1950, Bud went on to earn a master's degree in zoology from the University of Michigan in 1951. He returned to Luther and taught biology from 1951 to 1953. Bud married Donna Haugen in 1953, and went on to teach high school in Lansing, Iowa, then Decorah, Iowa, followed by a second career in sales. He passed away in February, 2017.
