Biographical Note for Meland, R. J. (1869-1961) :

Meland was born December 1, 1869 in Minnesota.  He attended Luther College from 1886 to 1892, working as a public school teacher for the next year.  He also attended Luther Seminary where he earned his CT.  He served as a pastor in Texas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Meland spent time as a photographer, an author, and ran for alderman.

Meland ble født i Faribault, Minnesota 1. desember 1869. Han studerte ved Luther College fra 1886 til 1892, og det følgende året jobbet han som lærer i den offentlige skolen. Han gikk også på Luther Seminary. Han tjenestegjorde som prest i Texas, Minnesota og Wisconsin. Meland var også fotograf, forfatter og ordførerkandidat.
