Biographical Note for Naeseth, Erling (1921-2004) :

Naeseth taught economics at Luther College, was the dean of students, and was the business manager.

Erling Naeseth was born on September 6, 1921 to Carelius and Emma (Brandt) Naeseth in Madison, Wisconsin. He attended Luther College 1940-43 and 1946-47, earning his B.A. While he had enlisted in the Navy in 1942, he was not called to active service until 1943. He spent 1944-1946 aboard the USS LST 1023, primarily in the Pacific. Naeseth went on to earn his master's in economics from the University of Wisconsin. He joined the Luther College faculty in 1948, teaching economics. In 1962, he was appointed Dean of Men, and business manager in 1968. He remained at Luther until he retired in 1987.

Naeseth married Roselle (Sally) Olson on July 26, 1946. Olson also was a Luther College graduate (1948). They had 3 children. Naeseth passed away on January 6, 2004.
