Biographical Note for Preus, Johan Wilhelm (1861-1925) :

J. W. Preus was the son of Herman Amberg Preus I, the first president of the Norwegian Lutheran Synod.  He graduated from Luther College with a bachelor’s degree in 1882.  He also attended Concordia Seminary and became an ordained pastor in 1887.  He served as pastor of Our Savior’s Church in Minneapolis for 22 years.  After having suffered several strokes, Preus passed away on October 19, 1925.

J.W. Preus var sønn av Hermann Amberg Preus, den første presidenten for Den norske synoden. Han tok eksamen ved Luther College i 1882. Han studerte også ved Concordia Seminary og ble ordinert til prest i 1887. Han tjenestegjorde som prest i Our Savior’s Church i Minneapolis i over tjue år (1899-1920). Etter å ha blitt rammet av flere slag, døde Preus 19. oktober 1925.
