Biographical Note for Strom, Carl Walther (b. 1899) : Graduated from Luther College, 1919; attended the University of Iowa, Oxford University, and the University of Illinois; taught math and Greek at Luther College, 1919-1935; returned to Luther College to teach math, 1962-1964; joined the Foreign Service, 1935; became the Director of the Foreign Service in the State Department, 1961.  Husband to Camille Sperati Strom.
