Biographical Note for Ylvisaker family :

The Norwegian Lutheran Church and Luther College played a large role in the Ylvisaker family’s history.  Many members of the family have been ordained as ministers.  J. Wilhelm Ylvisaker was president of Luther College from 1948 to 1962.  Other members of the Ylvisaker family have also served on the Luther College faculty or Board of Regents.  Luther’s Ylvisaker Hall is named after President Ylvisaker and the long line of Ylvisakers who have contributed to Luther College’s history.

Den norsk-lutherske kirke i Amerika og Luther College spilte en sentral rolle i Ylvisakers slektshistorie. Mange familiemedlemmer ble ordinert til prester. J. Wilhelm Ylvisaker var president på Luther College fra 1948 til 1962. Andre medlemmer av Ylvi saker familien underviste etter satt i styret på Luther College (Board of Regents).
