Biographical Note for Ellingson, Herman (1903-1970) : Born in Ridgeway, IA, February 25, 1903; attended Luther College 1920-1924; graduated with a degree in mathematics; taught math and physics at Luther, ending 1947; received his masters, 1927 and Doctorate, 1949 from the University of Iowa; worked for the Naval Ordinance Laboratory as a research physicist; passed away April 25, 1970 in Maryland.
