Kristian P. Myklebust, also known as Chris P. Myklebust, was born in Uskedalen, Norway, in 1869. His father was Peder Bertelsen. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1890 at age 21. He started as a farmer and then went to Illinois to learn photography, after which he started his own photography studio in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He returned to Norway 4 times. Myklebust took photographs in Norway and sold them as "Views of Norway". Known places he visited are South Hordaland, Olen, Etne, Vikebygd, and Kvinherrad. His first trip was probably in 1898 or 1899; second trip was 1905, third trip was 1914, fourth trip date is unknown. He married Anna from Eik, Norway. When Myklebust died in 1936, his wife sold the studio to another photographer.
