The collection contains 20 journals dating 1995-2015. These journals document Skeate's fly-fishing observations in the Midwest Driftless Region.

Born in St. Cloud, MN on July 13, 1954. Attended Luther College 1972-1973. Operated Skeate's Books in Decorah from 1993 to 1999. Avid fly-fisher of the Driftless region, authored three books on fly-fishing, including Familiar World: Notes of a Driftless Fly Fisher (2009) and Riverweather​ (2011). Died in Rochester, MN on April 19, 2016.
