Herman Amberg Preus was born June 16, 1825 at Kristiansand, Norway. Graduated from Christiania Univ., 1848-49. Immigrated to U.S., 1862-94. Married to Caroline Dorthea Margrethe Keyser, 1851. She died in 1880. He died July 2, 1894.
