Historical Note: Born in Burr Oak, Iowa, 1915. Graduated from Luther College in 1937. Earned law degree from the University of Iowa in 1940 and worked as an attorney in Decorah. Served on the Luther College Board of Regents, 1948-1962 and 1964-1976. During his service, he was president of the Board from 1951-1962 and 1970 until his resignation in 1976.
