Historical Note: Born on February 8, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Andrew and Edna (Olson) Rowland. He graduated from Luther College in 1954 and Luther Seminary in 1958. He was ordained in 1958 and served several congregations. He married Freida Mindrum in 1955 and they had three children.
